Quick Update!

Just a quick check in! I did step on Tuesday and it felt GREAT! I kept up with the steps this time around for the most part. I weighed in on Wednesday and lost 1.6 lbs, bringing me to -8.2 since I first weighed in at WW 5 weeks ago. I haven't worked out since Tuesday night and its irking me. I went after WW last night to see my cousin and her new baby! Then tonight we had a Spaghetti dinner for our March for Babies team. I really wanted to get out and run this evening since it was so nice out. I am hoping it will hold out for me to run tomorrow evening. I haven't watched the news in a couple days so I am not sure on that. I started P90X on Monday but really only did it Monday and Tuesday. I think I will use that as fillers in the mornings for now. Instead of following their regimine.

I did do my measurements tonight instead of waiting for Saturday. So far: -.75 in.Waist; -1.75 in. Bust; -.5 in Hips; Arms: Same (guess what is getting worked to death this week!); Thighs: -1 in. I was really surprised that I lost what I did. Everyone keeps saying they see changes, but I just don't see it or feel it.

I did set a new goal today to be around 175 lbs. by my 30th birthday, September 10th. That is 28 weeks away with an average of 2 lbs. per week. I feel this goal is achievable since I know some weeks I will lose more, some less, or not at all. It really puts it all in perspective when you think only 2 lbs. per week and I can reach that!??! If you look at "Hey, I'm gonna lose 65 lbs. before my 30th birthday." That's a bit scary thinking of it that way. Sounds unachievable. What really is shocking is if I reach this goal I will only be 35 lbs. away from what my goal weight right now is. The reason I say right now, is I just want to be happy with how I look and feel. I don't know what number that will be. I definitely don't want to go under 140 lbs. though. I would be happy with 160 I think, but I am shooting for 140 for now!

So this is my quick update! Time to get the kiddos in bed!

What Comfort Zone?

I apologize ahead of time that this post will be a wall of text!

This past week was kind of exciting! I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried quite a few new classes at the gym. Last Tuesday I tried the Step class, I liked the workout, but it was tough! I ended up having to take the risers out of my step and just use the step about 15 minutes into the class. I definitely want to go back to that class again. I skipped last night because I was just so exhausted and wanted to spend time with my family for Valentine's day. Wednesday I did a Biggest Loser DVD here at my house. It was an okay workout, got my heart rate up that's for sure. Thursday night I ended up trying the Zumba class at the gym, it was a lot of fun! I went with my friend Erin and convinced my cousin, Stacey, to go with me as well.

This past Monday night I went to Pilates with my Erin. Before we did Pilates, I went to the gym early with the intention to walk on the treadmill for 2 hours. Well I got on the first machine and it kept decelerating so I moved to the one next to it. It ended up doing the same thing. Instead of looking like a moron, and moving to yet another treadmill, I decided to do the bike. I walked .8 miles on the two treadmills and did 6 miles on the bike. The movie was over at that point so I got up and went to the locker room, checking the time to see how much longer it was for the class. I still had plenty of time so I stretched a bit and hopped back on the bike in the Women's area of the gym. I ended up doing 2 more miles, got off for a short break for more stretching, then did 2.5 miles more. So all in all I did 10.5 miles on the bike! We then went in for Pilates and WOW, maybe I shouldn't have done 10.5 miles haha! I was able to hang most of the legs workout but had to slow down and really push through in order to make it! The next day I felt okay, my shoulders were a little sore, and my legs were surprisingly not too bad. I couldn't believe how sore my abs were though! I didn't really notice that they hurt until I sneezed! Whoa! Hello ab muscles!!!

Today was weigh in day at WW, I lost another 3.6 pounds! Taking me to 6.6 pounds total for the month! I am only 5.4 pounds away from my 5% goal! I can't believe it! I will definitely be trying to reach that goal next week! Tomorrow I will be trying the Core Ball Class and I think I will do zumba or step in the evening! Hope everyone has a great week!

No Pain.....No Gain!

This week has been a good week all in all. I was very worried how I would do with the Superbowl party we had on Sunday. No I was not good and buy healthy snacks for everyone else. I picked easy things. I ate well, ended up picking a few yummy things and took them downstairs to watch the game. I stayed away from the kitchen so I wasn't tempted to get seconds. But I was good and didn't even think about it.

I didn't do much "working out" this weekend per se. I did do a lot of cleaning and laundry Saturday and Sunday morning, which did include a lot of trips up and down the stairs. Monday night I opted to take the kids for a walk in their wagon since it was nice outside. Bundled them up and walked in our neighborhood. I figured pulling 65 lbs in the wagon took place of the running. Our stree is a constant gradual grade, so it's not so bad going down the street but coming back up is a workout in itself. Tuesday night I attempted Step class at the gym with Beckey. I asked her if it was crazy hard before I agreed to do it, she said "No." HA! YEA RIGHT! I probably looked like the biggest fool ever! Well even though I did, everyone in the class was very encouraging at the end. I guess I will have to start doing it more often to get the hang of it. Plus it was a GREAT workout! 15 minutes into the class though I thought to myself "OK, I don't think I can do this for 45 more minutes!!" I hung in there though and finished, calf cramp and all.

Today was weigh-in day. I lost 4.4 pounds! Actually it was a 3 pound loss since I gained 1.4 pounds last week. I couldn't believe it! Now to push even more this week since I know if I got results like that this week, without doing a ton of exercise, imagine what the results would be if I did a lot!

My next goal is to go for a walk/run for 2 hours, and see how far I get. Do I have any volunteers that want to do that with me? I was thinking heading to Loveland Bike Trail for this. I don't want to go by myself, as there was a man that tried to abduct a woman a few years back, if I remember correctly. Plus it's just not safe for a woman to be out all alone like that in my opinion.

That's all for now, as its time for the kids to get ready for bed!

Step By Step

I have to admit when I finally decided the name for my new post this popped into my head:

Who didn't love these boys? OK sorry for the nostalgia back to our regular programming. And I will probably have this song in my head for the rest of the day. Along with you if you listen to it, HA HA.

Wednesday I had my weigh in at WW, I gained 1.4 lbs. Not what I wanted. Expected? A little. I am going to have to email my WW Coach, I don't understand how I am supposed to get in all my points in a day AND get in all the fruits/veggies/water. Right now I am supposed to eat 37 points a day. I am having trouble meeting my 37 points since so many fruits and veggies have no points. Sometimes I feel like I am overeating. So hopefully he can explain that better to me or we can lower my points down.

Working out has been going okay also. I feel like I need to step it up a little bit. I posted earlier in the week that I kept feeling guilty about not going running one of the days, so after dinner I just said to myself "Stop sitting here thinking about doing it, and go do it!" So I did, it was the weirdest feeling to want to go running, but felt like I was holding out. It was a nice run in the neighborhood even though it was dark. There are few street lights throughout so I could see enough. I am going to keep doing the C25K, although I will be doing Week 2 Day 3 over one more time, as I didn't feel I did well enough on Wednesday. So on my other 2 days a week I am going to start walking a longer distance. My first goal will be 3 miles. I don't care how long it takes me to do it, I will get it done though. I have to start building my distance up before May 9th. I know I'm not supposed to do it too fast but I also don't have all the time in the world. Right now with the C25K I am getting in anywhere between 1.75-2 miles.

I did go to the gym last night and met up with a friend from high school (BL). I only did 7 minutes on the elliptical because it really set in that I am not a fan of machines. I just couldn't get into it more than that. Plus it didn't help that we got in the movie room at the end of the movie that was playing. So BL found that the rowing machine stretches your shins perfectly! The rowing machines were open so I hopped on, man I forgot since high school how much work those are! I do love them and how they work every muscle in your body though. I only lasted about 2 minutes on the rowing machine, but again, it was more to get my shins stretched. I did lift weights last night as well, arms and legs. All in all I probably got a 40 minute workout in.

My right knee has been bothering me the past couple of days too. It doesn't hurt walking or when I am running, but when I have to go up and down stairs it hurts to put weight on it. I manage and still put the weight on but hope that it's just a fluke thing with all the working out lately.

So here is to a better week! I have to keep making smart choices. Any healthy/go to/on the go snack ideas send them my way! Sorry if this post seems mumble jumbled or doesn't make sense. I am trying to fit this into my day quickly.

P.S. I keep forgetting to tell you guys, I read something online, I forget where, but it was talking about the faster you move your arms, the faster your legs go. I felt this was a really good tip, now when I am running and feel like I have slacked off on my pace, I remember to move my arms faster. Then my legs automatically go faster, just a little tricking of my mind, but it helps!
